In a disturbing incident from Bengaluru, a man allegedly attacked his neighbour’s pet dog after it barked at his wife, leaving the animal seriously injured.
The incident, which took place on April 9, has sparked outrage after CCTV footage of the assault surfaced.
Caught on Camera: Accused Brutally Attacks Pet Dog
According to reports, the accused, identified as Gopi, entered his neighbour’s house and attacked the dog standing near the entrance.
The CCTV footage shows him hitting the dog multiple times with a wooden log. The assault continued for several seconds, during which the dog was struck repeatedly and eventually collapsed unconscious.

Argument Escalates Into Violence
Police said the incident began after the dog allegedly barked at Gopi’s wife, leading to an argument between the two families.
The situation escalated quickly, with the accused entering the neighbour’s premises and violently assaulting the pet.
Dog Rescued, Undergoing Treatment
Hearing the dog’s cries, the owners rushed outside and found their pet in an injured condition. They immediately provided water and took the dog to a veterinary hospital.
Doctors treated the animal, and it is now reported to be out of danger and recovering.
Case Registered Under BNS, Probe On
Based on a complaint filed on April 11, police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
The charges include mischief against animals and criminal trespass. Further investigation is currently underway.
