Who is Chris Paul?

Paul was a McDonald’s All-American in high school and played two years of collegiate basketball at Wake Forest University when he guided the Demon Deacons to their first-ever number-one rating. He was taken by the New Orleans Hornets as the fourth overall choice in the 2005 NBA draft, and he quickly established himself as one of the league’s top players, placing second in NBA Most Valuable Player voting in 2008. The Hornets negotiated a trade to transfer Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2011 offseason, but the transaction was controversially canceled by the NBA. Later that year, he was instead transferred to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers, led by Paul’s playmaking, were known for their fast-paced offense and breathtaking alley-oop dunks, giving them the moniker “Lob City.”

He was traded to the Houston Rockets in 2017, where he helped them win a franchise-record 65 games in his first season. He returned to Houston for one more season before being sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of a trade for Russell Westbrook in 2019. He helped the squad win a franchise-record 64 games the following year.
