Delhi CM Atishi inaugurates State-of-the-Art Academic Block, showcases transformation in government schools

Delhi CM Atishi

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi lauded the remarkable progress of government schools in the capital, stating they now rival private institutions in quality.

Speaking at the inauguration of a new four-storey academic block at Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Mukundpur Village, she attributed this achievement to the AAP government’s decade-long commitment to education reform.

The new facility includes 36 modern classrooms, three advanced laboratories, and a principal’s office, offering infrastructure that Atishi remarked even surpasses private schools. Drawing from her own experience, she noted, “Even in my private school, we didn’t have such a well-equipped geography lab.”

The upgraded building is expected to benefit around 1,000 students from Mukundpur Village and Samta Vihar, addressing issues like overcrowded classrooms and enhancing the learning environment.

Over the past ten years, the AAP government has constructed more than 22,000 classrooms—outperforming the efforts of previous administrations combined.

Atishi highlighted the transformative impact on students, stating, “Earlier, students couldn’t even touch lab equipment. Now, they confidently demonstrate its use, showcasing the evolution of our education system.”

The CM credited Delhi residents for choosing a government that prioritizes education, transforming the once-distant vision of high-quality government schools into reality.

Burari MLA Sanjeev Jha also praised the new block, emphasizing its role in easing the burden on neighboring schools in Model Town and Adarsh Nagar.

This milestone reinforces Delhi’s commitment to providing world-class education in government schools, ensuring modern facilities and equal learning opportunities for all students, regardless of background.
