How Diablo 3 Went From Having a Terrible Start To Being A Lot Of Fun?

 Diablo 3: Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo III is a hack-and-slash action role-playing game. Act I

The Nephalem (player’s character) investigates the falling star in New Tristram. The Nephalem join Leah to save Cain. After rescuing him, they find that they must battle the Skeleton King to reach the fallen star. The Nephalem beat him and locate a stranger nearby. The stranger’s sole recollection is a broken sword. Nephalem finds two sword fragments. Maghda, chief of the Dark Coven, obtains the third piece and tries to mend Cain’s sword. Leah’s magical strength kills the cultists, forcing Maghda to slay Cain and depart with the stranger. Cain’s final deed is to mend the heavenly sword and give it to the stranger. After releasing the stranger from the Butcher and returning the sword, the stranger’s memories return, and he is revealed to be Archangel Tyrael, the Aspect of Justice. Tyrael laid aside his divinity to become a mortal to warn Sanctuary about the demon lords.

Act II

Leah, Tyrael, and Nephalem visit Caldeum. Nephalem goes after Maghda. Demons serving Belial, the Lord of Lies, have replaced the guards at Khasim Outpost. The Nephalem released them, they reclaimed the outpost, and they fought and killed Maghda. The Nephalem return to Caldeum to rescue Leah from Belial’s army, dressed as Emperor Hakan II’s guards, then escape into the sewers. Leah tells that her mother Adria (the original game’s witch) is still alive. Nephalem helps Leah rescue Adria from the sewers. Adria explains that the Black Soulstone, made by renegade Horadrim Zoltan Kulle, can trap all seven Lords of Hell’s souls. Leah says Kulle was killed before he could finish the stone and his skull was sealed. Adria tells Nephalem to find the head.

After retrieving the head, Leah revives Zoltun Kulle’s spirit, who promises to provide the Black Soulstone if the Nephalem restores his body. The Nephalem seeks Kulle’s body, and Leah revives him. The Nephalem is brought to the archive’s inner sanctum, where the Black Soulstone lies, but must confront Kulle when he urges them to forsake their mission. The Nephalem return to Caldeum to discover Belial attacking. Leah and Adria fight their way to the palace with the Nephalem, revealing Belial as the Emperor and defeating him. Leah seals Belial’s soul in the Black Soulstone, freeing Caldeum, then sees Azmodan, the Lord of Sin and lone remaining Lord of Hell, assaulting Sanctuary from Mount Arreat (destroyed by Tyrael in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction).


The Nephalem, Tyrael, their followers, Leah, and Adria head to Bastion’s Keep, where Azmodan’s army is attacking. Tyrael commands the Nephalem to help. The Nephalem then enter the castle, where Azmodan’s armies had defeated Ghom, the Lord of Gluttony. The Nephalem destroys Azmodan’s siege weaponry before crossing Arreat, slaying Cydaea, the Maiden of Lust, and then defeating Azmodan in the mountain’s shattered center. Leah locks Azmodan’s soul in Black Soulstone. Adria betrays them as they return to Bastion’s Keep. Adria has always served Diablo, the Lord of Terror. Adria resurrects Diablo with the Black Soulstone and forces Leah to be his vessel. Diablo becomes the Prime Evil with the Lords of Hell’s souls and attacks the High Heavens. Act IV

Nephalem and Tyrael find the High Heavens under attack. Imperius blames the Nephalem and Tyrael for their demise, prompting Tyrael to despair. The Nephalem keep fighting. The Nephalem are sent to retrieve Auriel by Israel, the Aspect of Fate. Auriel instructs the Nephalem to shut the Hell Rifts, restoring hope to Heaven’s soldiers.

The Nephalem then locate a happy Tyrael. Together, they try to stop Diablo from reaching the Crystal Arch, Heaven’s power source, but not before a clash with Tyrael’s corrupted former lieutenant Izual (thought to have been killed in Diablo II). Diablo is beaten and destroyed. The Black Soulstone falls from Heaven unbroken. Tyrael rejoins the Angiris Council as the Aspect of Wisdom after the war, although he remains a mortal devoted to creating an angel-human partnership.

Diablo III was unveiled during the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris, France, on June 28, 2008.
