A “re-imagining” of the franchise is being planned for the next film, but fans are skeptical that the new Final Destination film will live up to the promise of the originals.

If the formula is working, don’t try to fix it. But the thing is, Death could use any number of the ideas floating around in my head. One design even has a Rube Goldberg-like mechanism. However, there are a number of ways in which Death could succeed in killing us. For some sin or wrongdoing they committed, they were psychologically toyed with by Death in my original story—which was a little dark because I am a fan of Nightmare on Elm Street.
In any case, that was rather gloomy. Not that I have any interest in making that film at the moment, but I can’t help but think that Death’s universe would be fascinating to investigate, much as we did in the sequel. I’d like to elaborate on the backstory. If I were to return, I would have other plans.
