After her outbursts in the third ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka, the International Cricket Council suspended India captain Harmanpreet Kaur for two games. She will sit out at least one Test match or two One-Day Internationals for India.

For the Level 2 infraction, Kaur was assessed a punishment of 50% of her match fee and given three disciplinary points.

The ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel states, “She was found guilty of infringing article 2.8, related to “showing dissatisfaction at an umpire’s decision.”

“During the presentation ceremony, Kaur openly criticized the umpiring. Therefore, the ICC penalized 25 percent of her match money for a Level 1 infringement related to “public criticism about an incident occurring in an international match.”
