A man in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district faced an unexpected consequence when he used two tomatoes to cook a meal for his tiffin service without consulting his wife. His wife, upset over the high price of tomatoes, left home with their daughter after a heated argument with him.
Tomato Trouble: Sanjeev Burman, who runs a tiffin service, said he used two tomatoes while cooking vegetable curry for his customers without asking his wife. He noted that tomatoes sold at Rs 120-150 per kg in the market, and his wife was very careful about their budget. She got angry when she saw he had used the tomatoes without her permission and started scolding him.

Burman said he tried to explain to his wife that he needed to use the tomatoes for his business, but she did not listen. She accused him of being careless and wasteful and said he did not care about their family’s expenses. She then packed her bags and left home with their daughter.

Police Complaint: Burman said he searched for his wife and daughter at various places, but could not find them. He then approached the police station and filed a complaint, requesting them to help him locate his family. He said that he loved his wife and wanted her to come back.
The police said they had registered the complaint and were trying to trace the missing woman and child. They also said that they would counsel the couple and try to resolve their issue amicably.
Tomato prices soar: Tomatoes have soared in many parts of the country due to heavy rains and floods that have damaged crops.
