According to reports, Shyam was a college student from the district of East Godavari. He is a native of the village of Koppigunta. It is believed that Shyam committed suicide in the village of Chintaluru.

On June 25, Shyam was discovered deceased in his home in the Konaseema district in the morning. The fatality occurred between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on June 24 and 25.

The local investigator investigated the incident on-site. Considered a suicide by hanging, the matter has been registered under Section 174.
