Skrillex Surprise Releases Second Album: On February 18th, Skrillex released his second album in the same amount of time as the last one. The unexpected news was broken just one day after the album Search For Fire, his first release in nine years, was made available to the public.
The American giant’s first album since 2014, Quest For Fire, was made available on streaming services on Friday night, the same day that Don’t Go Too Near was made available online for the first time.
The second full-length album, which is also available through OWSLA and Atlantic Records, is the one that leans more heavily towards the pop genre. It collaborates with artists such as Justin Bieber, Yung Lean, Bladee, Chief Keef, PinkPantheress, and Trippie Redd.

The charismatic DJ and producer gave a stunning closing performance at MSG on Saturday, capping off a week of releases and shows that began with a surprise Valentine’s Day pop-up at Good Room and continued with a larger party on Thursday at Le Poisson Rouge and a massive live set in the middle of Times Square for The Lot Radio broadcast from a school bus turned the sound system on Friday.
During the unveiling, attendees could purchase CDs of the record that were actually bootlegs. Skrillex’s new pop-leaning, off-kilter personal album, Don’t Get Too Near, features the producer pouring his heart and soul into each track to make something intimate and universally accessible.
Being a fan of electronic music in general right now, let alone Skrillex is a fantastic experience in itself. It is something to be treasured that the talented and ground-breaking musician has released two albums in as few as seven days.
