Since its initial announcement at Bethesda’s E3 press presentation in 2018, the release date for this magnificent fusion of innovation, imagination, and precisely placed pixels has been pushed back past the year 2022.

Now, in a brand new launch video featuring a personal greeting from game director Todd Howard, the illustrious developers have announced the official drop date for “Starfield” as September 6, 2023. When compared to other future space games, this one is high on the watch list.

Bethesda announced the summer 2017 release of “Starfield,” a space-based role-playing game, for Xbox Series X/S and PC in this exclusive promotional piece published on March 8. On June 11, Bethesda will host a Starfield Direct presentation, which will go into much greater detail on the game’s stunning gameplay (you can locate a Martian rover, for example), worldbuilding, and additional features. Xbox Game Pass members can begin playing “Starfield” on the day of its official release, September 6.

Howard said in the announcement teaser that:
“We have poured ourselves into this game and even I’m surprised at how much we can pour, it is large. We’re playing the game all the time.”
The game will Take You to the year 2330 where players will be thrown into the depths of space, where they will join the Constellation and its brave crew of space explorers in their pursuit of extraterrestrial relics on an adventure that will take them to the furthest reaches of the cosmos.
At the upcoming Starfield Direct in June, we’re going to invite you into the studio and give you a deep dive into the game’ Howard says. As much as we’ve shown you so far, there’s still more to come. The game features many of the elements typical of our work, but it also stands out in its own right. He also said,

Believe it or not, we’re kind of the same. We miss it. And we really just can’t wait for you all to play it. Thanks, and we’ll see you soon.”
On September 6, 2023, “Starfield” will be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
