Vani Jayaram’S Death at 77 Confirmed by Police
On Saturday, February 4, the police confirmed that veteran playback singer Vani Jayaram had died. She was discovered in her Haddows Road residence in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
On Saturday morning, the housekeeper working for Jayaram reportedly tried to reach him but was ignored. Consequently, the maid notified the singer’s family and phoned the police.

The police said they found Vani Jayaram unconscious in residence with a large cut on her forehead.
“She had a deep cut on her forehead. We have done the autopsy, and we will wait for its report before saying anything about her death,” an officer said, as reported by the Deccan Herald. They have launched a probe into the singer’s death to confirm the exact cause.
As of February 6, it was stated that investigators have ruled out any criminal involvement. Initial findings from the autopsy point to a fatal fall as the cause of death for Jayaram.
On Sunday, February 5, at the Besant Nagar crematorium, Vani Jayaram was cremated with full police honours. Chief Minister MK Stalin visited her home earlier that day to deliver flower condolences.
