Alice In Borderland Season 3: After two years away from Netflix, Alice in Borderland is back with an outstanding second season. Fans, however, are left wanting more information after watching all eight episodes.
In the second season of Alice in Borderland, Arisu and Usagi form an alliance with some of the characters from the first season and some newcomers to take on the Borderland’s Face Card citizens. Numerous characters perish, new alliances are formed, and a massive, plot-altering revelation is made near the season’s end.
Here is everything we know about season 3 of Alice in Borderland, as well as everything we can reasonably guess will happen.
What’s the status of season 3 of Alice in Borderland on Netflix?
No word on a third season just yet, but then again, it just came out. Alice in Borderland could return for a third season if it is well-received by viewers and places in the top 10 of international ratings. Two weeks after the premiere, Netflix picked up the first season. From this, we can infer that the show’s future will be announced in January 2023. Continue checking back for updates!
Alice in Borderland Season 3: Release Date
It’s difficult to predict how long we might have to wait for a third season of Alice in Borderland because production was delayed because of the pandemic (hence the two-year wait!). Accordingly, the first season’s filming began in August 2019 and concluded in December 2019. The first season premiered in December 2020. The production of Season 2 ended in March of 2022, and it premiered to viewers 9 months later.
When (if) season 3 is officially confirmed and production begins, we’ll probably learn more. If the show is renewed for a second season, we could see it in theatres in 2024.
Alice in Borderland Season 3: Plot
The second season ends with a cliffhanger involving a Joker card and a major unanswered question: have they returned to the real world or are they still in the parallel universe?
After a harrowing season 2 in which they faced off against all the face cards and nearly lost it all, Arisu, Usagi, Chishiya, Kuina, Aguni, Ann, and Akane all turned down the offer to remain as permanent residents of the Borderlands.
This results in them seemingly being transported back to their original reality. They lost consciousness on the day they entered the Borderlands because of a meteor explosion over Tokyo. Others were even more severely hurt; some even had their hearts stop beating.
The second season concludes with the players recuperating in a hospital, but they have no recollection of the events that transpired there. Arisu and Usagi finally meet at the end of the episode. A sense of familiarity exists between them despite the fact that they have never met.
This is where the plot of season 3 may enter the picture. A deck of cards is seen on the table in the final scene of Season 2. A strong wind blows them away, leaving only the Joker. (The fun apparently isn’t over just yet!)
In the event of a third season, attention will likely be drawn to the Joker and his function on the Borderlands. Possibly even more sick and twisted games will be played.

Alice in Borderland Season 3: Cast
Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) will be featured heavily in the upcoming third season as they are thrust into the real world. at least their version of reality.
Here’s hoping we see more of Kuina (Aya Asahina), Ann (Ayaka Miyoshi), Aguni (Sho Aoyagi), and Akane (Yuri Tsunematsu), who were all nearly killed by the King of Spades.
Chechnya (Nijirô Murakami) and Niragi (Dori Sakurada) are assumed to return should a third season go forward, as they both survived the events of season 2 (how on earth did Niragi survive!?). In addition, they decided not to apply for permanent residence.
The other two players in Chishiya’s Jack of Hearts game to survive were Banda (Hayato Isomura) and Yaba (Katsuya Maiguma), who have both settled down as permanent Borderlanders. It’s not known if or when they’ll show up again, but they very well might in a different role in the game.
Tatta has, unfortunately, died a permanent death after he gave his life to ensure the team’s victory over the King of Clubs. And since every single one of the Face Cards has been vanquished, you can count on none of them making a comeback, either. (Rest in peace, scheming queen Mira!)
