Progress under PM-UDAY: single-window camps regularize thousands of properties in Delhi

Date:

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena reviewed the ongoing single-window camps organized under the Prime Minister-Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY), which aims to grant ownership rights to residents of 1,731 unauthorised colonies in Delhi.

According to the Raj Niwas, 13,353 applicants visited these camps to regularize their properties.

The PM-UDAY scheme focuses on providing legal recognition to properties in unauthorised colonies by conferring ownership rights.

On Saxena’s instructions, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has been conducting these camps every weekend from November 30 to December 29 at 10 designated centres.

Most applicants had their requests processed and approved on the spot, with DDA officials often working late to accommodate large crowds.

In response to public demand during his visit to a camp in Najafgarh, Saxena directed the inclusion of sub-registrars in the camps to finalize property registrations on-site.

As a result, during the December 7-8 weekend, over 2,000 new applications were filed, while 506 conveyance deeds/authorization slips were issued, and 21 deeds were registered.

The camps also resolved thousands of pending regularization applications by addressing deficiencies and approving hundreds.

Services provided include the issuance of conveyance deeds, authorization slips, GIS surveys, new registrations, and assistance with bond and notarization processes.

Additionally, special camps addressed issues like property mutation due to inheritance and long-pending electricity connections for 14,000 applicants affected by delays under the land-pooling policy.

These initiatives reflect Saxena’s directive for the DDA to execute the program in “mission mode,” streamlining services to benefit residents in unauthorised colonies.
