Ram Mandir outshines Taj Mahal as tourism shifts to Ayodhya

Date:

Since the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, there has been a significant rise in the number of tourists visiting the city. Tourist interest in the Ram Mandir has been increasing, leading to a noticeable decline in the number of visitors to the Taj Mahal in Agra.

Tourist arrivals to the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, have been steadily decreasing in comparison to the growing number of visitors to the Ram Mandir. In the past nine months, after the consecration ceremony of the temple, around 47 crore tourists have visited Ayodhya.

According to tourism department statistics, the number of Indian tourists visiting the Taj Mahal has decreased by 193,298 this year compared to last year. However, the number of foreign tourists has increased. In 2022-23, 2,684,825 foreign tourists visited the Taj Mahal, whereas in 2023-24, this number rose to 2,770,340.

This trend highlights the growing popularity of the Ram Mandir and its impact on the tourism sector in Agra.

What are your thoughts on this shift in tourist interest?
