Crime in Delhi: 85-Year-Old Woman Sexually Assaulted in Shakurpur, DCW Notifies Authorities!!

Date:

An old woman was allegedly raped in the Shakurpur neighborhood of Delhi on Friday, prompting the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) to issue a notice to the city police. The 85-year-old victim, a lone resident of a slum, claimed a guy broke into her home at 4 a.m. and sexually assaulted her, the panel reported.

The defendant is accused of punching and attempting to strangle the victim

She further claimed the defendant tried to strangle her and hit her in the face. “She also sustained injuries all over her body and private parts,” the tribunal noted in its warning to the deputy commissioner of police.

Swati Mahiwal, president of the DWC in the (North West) district, tweeted the news

The panel wants a copy of the FIR filed in the case and to know if the police have a registry of all the old individuals in the area who live alone.
