Congress General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal has launched a sharp attack on the RSS and the BJP, accusing them of disrespecting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution. In a statement, he said, “The RSS mindset is now clear: they claim the Constitution is not Indian. To capture votes, they invoke Ambedkar Ji’s name, including PM Modi. However, even hearing Ambedkar Ji’s name seems to irritate them.”
Venugopal further alleged that the BJP’s push for the One Nation, One Election bill is rooted in their opposition to Ambedkar’s ideals and the democratic principles enshrined in the Constitution.
This statement has added fuel to the ongoing political debate surrounding the proposed bill, with opposition parties questioning its intent and timing. The Congress leader’s remarks underscore the party’s commitment to defending Ambedkar’s legacy and the values of the Constitution.
