Uttar Pradesh policy of social media: Influencers are going to be paid ₹5 lakh, ₹4 lakh, ₹3 lakh, and ₹2 lakh for their accounts on Instagram, X, and Facebook.

The state of Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has given its approval to the Digital Media in Uttar Pradesh Policy for the year 2024. For this, the government has chosen to prepare a list of influential people on social media platforms who will receive government service promotions to promote initiatives and accomplishments of the UP dispensation. 

People who share details about government programs and initiatives via their channels of communication will have opportunities to make money through advertisements.

Influencers can earn up to ₹8 lakh through government promotions.

 

Sanjay Prasad, the principal secretary of the information systems of the State Department, stated on Tuesday that the government has chosen to make a list of firms and agencies to offer advertisements to advertise them for creating and displaying reels/videos/tweets/posts/content regarding schemes and the accomplishments of the UP government via the internet, such as X,  YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

According to the report on the number of followers and subscribers, the department is going to prepare a list of social networking sites, influencers, firms, and agencies in four different groups. The payment’s value will serve as its foundation within a category an individual falls under.

Such influencers will receive compensation of a maximum of₹5 lakh,₹4 lakh,₹3 lakh, and₹2 lakh in their bank accounts on X, Instagram, and Facebook.

For videos uploaded to YouTube, podcasts, and short stories, the individuals who have an impact in these four categories can make money to₹8 lakh,₹7 lakh,₹6 lakh, and₹4 lakh per month.

The policies of social media seek to regulate content on such platforms. It additionally includes specifications for dealing with objectionable content from social media.

According to the revised policy, anti-national content would be a serious matter crime that is punishable with a penalty ranging from three years to life in prison.

Obscene and demeaning content will be illegal.
