The worldwide release of Gadar 2, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Sunny Deol vehicle Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, has audiences going wild. Despite the film’s continued success at the box office, audiences in Noida had a bad time when it was shown there.

The projector in the Logix Mall caused a commotion when it broke down. Before the projector could begin work, the police were called because the situation had gotten out of hand. The PVR staff regretted the trouble and assured customers their money would be fully refunded.

A tragic event abruptly stopped an earlier showing of Gadar 2 at Prasad Cinema in Bareilly. During the performance, a brawl between two inebriated individuals escalated, prompting widespread panic and a stampede among the audience.

One of them got a belt from his friend and attacked the other, causing injuries to bystanders in the process. The accused had already disappeared when police arrived, leaving them alone to deal with the fallout.

Gadar 2’s opening weekend haul of Rs 135 crore places it just behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, the highest-grossing film of 2023.

Gadar 2 follows the story of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakeena (Ameesha Patel) as they travel to Pakistan to rescue Tara Singh’s son Charan Jeet Singh (Utkrash Sharma) from the hands of the Pakistani Army during the turbulent ‘Crush India Movement’ of 1971.

At the premiere of the teaser, Sunny Deol remarked, “I am highly grateful to the fans for their unwavering support of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and I assure you that Gadar 2 will deliver double the action, emotions, and entertainment.”

Gadar 2, directed by Anil Sharma, came out on August 11 and competed alongside OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar.
