At the opening of Squid Game in Los Angeles, California, in November 2021, they walked the red carpet together for the first time. Yang went with Kimmel to the opening of “Easter Sunday” in August 2022 and to the “Unforgettable Gala,” which was an Asian American awards show, in December 2022.

Yang’s idea of a good first date is one in which there is no stress between him and his date. He said that dinner dates are his best way to get to know someone. “Maybe a dinner date. I’m a big foodie. A chill joint where we can talk. No loud music,” the actor said.
He continued,
“My biggest turn-on is somebody that’s well-traveled, willing to eat everything, just very cultured. Coming from a different country as an immigrant, I’m all about food. Whether it’s Chinese food or something else, I just love to learn about other cultures, much like how I learn about American culture. So I love someone who is cultured. You don’t have to have globe-trotted, but just be open-minded about things.”
Yang said that he likes to go to Busby’s, a kind of sports bar with places to play mini golf and skeeball. The actor who co-starred with Constance Wu in “Crazy Rich Asians” and has a daughter with Ryan Kattner uses the games to see if his dates will let their guard down for a short gaming session.
Even though he doesn’t think he’s very romantic, he remembered that his most romantic thing was doing something with his present partner, Kimmel. Yang went to the wedding of his girlfriend’s sister. He said that the trip was full of sacrifices. Spirit Airlines was the only company with a direct flight at the time, so that’s how they got to the wedding.
