Railway Confirms: Saffron Color Chosen for the Upcoming Vande Bharat Express

The Railway Ministry has confirmed that the new Vande Bharat Express, India’s indigenously developed semi-high-speed train, will be saffron in color instead of white and blue. The Indian tricolor inspired the new color scheme, said Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

A Trial Change for the 28th Rake

The new saffron Vande Bharat Express is not yet operational and is stationed at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, where the train is being manufactured. The minister visited the ICF on Saturday and reviewed the train’s progress. He said that the color of the 28th rake of the Vande Bharat Express is being changed on a trial basis.

He also said that 25 improvements had been made in the new trains based on the feedback received from the field units regarding ACs, toilets, and other features. He said the new trains are designed in India by Indian engineers and technicians under the Make in India initiative.
