Spiderman 2 ps5: We think that Spider-Man: Homecoming (2018) and Miles Morales: Definitive Edition for PS5 (one of the console’s selling points) will go down in history as two of the best superhero games for consoles. We can’t wait for the official (numbered, full-length) sequel; Insomniac Games did a fantastic job.
Venom will play the villain role this time, with Peter Parker and Miles Morales playing the heroes (the latter hopefully having a solid part after his spin-off). Although there is little information available about the game at this time, that may change.
On Sunday, a PlayStation Store page for Spider-Man 2 was added, and on December 10th, Insomniac’s community director James Stevenson randomly shared a Spider-Man 2 GIF. In other words, action may soon be taken! However, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming web-slinging game right now.
Spiderman 2 ps5: Release Date
Although Insomniac Games and Sony have not provided a specific date, the Spider-Man 2 PS5 game is expected to be released sometime in 2023. If we had to speculate now, we’d say that the release date for the Spider-Man 2 game will fall in the fourth quarter of 2023, between the months of September and December.
We have a good feeling about our prediction, as the fall/winter season is traditionally a prime time for video game releases. However, we will update this page with the official date once it is determined.
The Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 game is available for preorder.
We have received word that the game is now on a wishlist table on the UK PlayStation Store. However, a live page is not available to us on the regular internet. No matter the case, it’s still too early to make a serious pre-order. Sorry! We will keep you posted on any developments here.
On which platforms will Spider-Man 2 be playable?
Unlike the Miles Morales game, which was released on both the PS3 and PS4, Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man 2 will only be available for the PS5 system. Should any developments warrant it, we will post an update here to keep you abreast of the situation.
Spiderman 2 ps5: Plot
So far, we only know that Venom (voiced by Candyman himself, Tony Todd) will be in the game, which leads us to believe that he will be the primary villain for this second story in the mainline franchise. Hopefully, the Green Goblin and the Sandman won’t be involved, and hopefully, Peter Parker won’t just start dancing in the street.
It seems likely that both Peter and Miles Morales will appear in the game dressed as Spider-Man, which makes sense given that they are both well-established in the Marvel Universe at this point. However, at present, this is all the information we have. The fact that we know so little about it so far has us excited, though.
A voice in the trailer sounded very much like it could belong to Kraven the Hunter, a Russian big game hunter who often preys on Spidey in the comics, so we also have a good idea of at least one other familiar face that will be appearing. If you’re a Spider-Man game veteran, you might recall him from Shattered Dimensions.

How does Spider-Man 2 play on the PS5?
A statement on this has not been made, but I wouldn’t anticipate any major changes from the previous game or the Miles add-on. This means that we’ll be able to return to our favorite open-world environment, complete with all of its previously available side quests and vibrant human inhabitants. It’s also likely that there will be a lot of collectibles hidden here and there.
We anticipate similar features to those found in the previous game, such as enemy strongholds to conquer and side research missions to complete. However, when 2023 finally arrives, we’re hoping to see some fresh takes on the game. We’re curious to learn their specifics.
When it comes to the PS5, will Spider-Man 2 support multiplayer?
Sony’s official PlayStation Blog states that this new game will “continue the journey of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in their most epic single-player adventure yet,” so it’s safe to assume that co-op play won’t be a part of the Spider-Man PS5 game.
Considering the context, it’s unlikely that you and a friend could play as Pete and Miles in a multiplayer game since the former term implies that both players are handling their respective characters independently. However, neither of the two preceding games in this series featured multiplayer, so this isn’t a huge shock.
