A section of an under-construction tunnel on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway collapsed in Rajasthan’s Kota district, resulting in the death of one worker and injuries to two others, police reported on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Saturday night in the Modak area of Ramganj Mandi.
Superintendent of Police (Kota Rural), Sujit Shankar, stated that rescue operations were launched immediately to free the trapped workers from the debris.
The injured workers were rushed to the hospital, where 33-year-old Shamsher Singh was pronounced dead. The other two workers are currently undergoing treatment.
Following the collapse, teams from the police and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) arrived at the site to evaluate the situation. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the structural failure.
