V Narayanan appointed as the new ISRO chairman

V Narayanan, an expert in rocket and spacecraft operations, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He will assume office on January 14, succeeding S Somanath.

An alumnus and topper of IIT, Narayanan brings with him over 40 years of experience in space technology and operations. Currently serving as the director of the Liquid Propulsion System Centre (LPSC) in Valiamala, he has played a crucial role in ISRO’s advancements in propulsion systems.

Narayanan’s tenure as chairman will span two years, during which he is expected to lead ISRO into a new era of innovation and exploration.
