Wheelchair Basketball Paralympic Schedule Unveiled for Paris 2024: Europe’s Best to Battle It Out
The competition timings for wheelchair basketball at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games have been revealed, with the first match set to captivate all of Europe. Britain will face Germany in Group A of the men’s tournament on 29 August at 10:30 CEST.
The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) and Paris 2024 have jointly disclosed the competition schedule for wheelchair basketball at the upcoming Paralympic Games. The event is slated to run from 29 August to 8 September, with all matches taking place at the Bercy Arena in the heart of Paris. Eight men’s and eight women’s national teams will compete for the highly coveted Paralympic medals.
Both the men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball tournaments will kick off on 29 August, the day after the Opening Ceremony. The inaugural men’s match, a continental showdown, will see Britain square off against Germany in Group A at 10:30 CEST. The women’s competition will start in the same session at 12:45 CEST, with European silver medalists Great Britain facing a challenging encounter against Spain in Group A.

The group stage for both tournaments will run until 2 September, followed by knockout matches starting on 3 September. The competition format includes a round-robin phase within groups, leading to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. The men’s final will be held on 7 September, while the women’s final will occur on 8 September.
