150-year-old temple found abandoned in varanasi’s madanpura

A temple, believed to be over 150 years old, has been discovered locked and abandoned in the muslim-majority area of madanpura, varanasi. The temple, located near house number D-31 close to a platform (chabutra), has reportedly been shut for nearly 40 years.

The structure is filled with soil, and locals claim it may be as old as 250 years. Photos of the temple have gone viral on social media, raising concerns about its neglect.

Calls for the restoration and preservation of the temple are growing, with many urging authorities to take immediate action to protect this piece of varanasi’s cultural heritage.
