Faridkot Tragedy: In-Depth Analysis of the Fatal High-Speed Collision on Bathinda-Faridkot Road

On December 2, 2023, a tragic road accident occurred on the Bathinda-Faridkot Road near Wada Bhaika village in Faridkot, Punjab, claiming the lives of five individuals. This catastrophic incident unfolded when two vehicles, reportedly involved in a high-speed race, collided.

The severity of the impact was such that one car hit a tree while the other vehicle overturned, resulting in the instant death of all five occupants of the trailing car. The individuals in the leading vehicle reportedly fled the scene without being identified​​​​​​.

The victims of this tragic event were identified as Manpreet Singh from Kothe Ramsar (Muktsar), Rohit from Gidderbaha, Harpinder Singh, Amandeep Singh, and Nanak Singh, all from Bathinda. In the wake of this accident, the police are actively investigating a vehicle with a Jalandhar registration that was involved in the incident.

Sources within the police department disclosed that there had been a verbal altercation between the two groups in Bathinda before they started their ill-fated journey towards Faridkot.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, the families of the deceased staged a protest at the Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, where the bodies were brought for post-mortem examination.

The families raised allegations against the hospital staff for inexplicable delays in conducting the necessary procedures. However, the hospital authorities countered these claims, stating that the delay was due to incomplete documentation from law enforcement officials.
