Humidity Remains High with Possibility of Drizzle in Isolated Areas. The weather in Delhi is expected to see high humidity levels persisting, with the possibility of isolated drizzle in certain areas.

The maximum temperature on Thursday is projected to be around 37°C, while the relative humidity will remain above 50%, following oscillations between 61% and 84% on the previous day.

IMD Scientist’s Weather Forecast

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist Kuldeep Srivastava, there are possibilities of isolated drizzle in certain areas on Thursday, with generally cloudy skies expected during the day.

High humidity levels will persist as the monsoon trough continues to pass through Phalodi and Kota in Rajasthan, significantly south of Delhi. Latest weather updates follow down below:

Delhi has experienced a lack of rainfall in the last 24 hours due to the monsoon trough being situated south of the city, around central India. However, an increase in rain intensity is anticipated on July 23, when the monsoon trough returns to the National Capital Region.

Temperature and Rainfall Records

On Thursday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 27.6°C, matching the temperature from the previous day. The minimum temperature on Wednesday was 36.5°C.

Despite the recent lull in rain activity, Safdarjung, Delhi’s representative weather station, has recorded 331.3 mm of rainfall this month. This amount exceeds the monthly long-period average (LPA) of 209.7mm.

Air Quality Largely Satisfactory

The continuous rainfall throughout the month has contributed to maintaining air quality in Delhi within the satisfactory category. On Thursday at 9 am, Delhi recorded an average air quality index (AQI) of 84, which falls under the satisfactory range.

Delhi Weather Humidity above 50

This reading slightly worsened from Wednesday’s AQI of 77, which was also in the satisfactory category. On Tuesday, the AQI was 113, categorized as moderate. The AQI is expected to remain satisfactory until July 22.

In conclusion, Delhi is expected to experience high humidity levels with the possibility of isolated drizzle in certain areas. An increase in rain intensity is anticipated on July 23 when the monsoon trough returns to the National Capital Region.
