IIT Guwahati Student Death: Telangana Scholar Dies After NY Party!!

In a startling event, an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati student passed away at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) from an alcohol overdose.

According to the police, on December 31, the girl known as Aishwarya and three of her friends—all from IIT Guwahati—were having a party in a pub in Paltan Bazar, Guwahati. Later, when they were drunk, they reserved a hotel room in the same vicinity.

“The girl and her companions checked into a hotel in the middle of the night after partying at Paltan Bazar,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the Central Police District, Amitabh Basumatary, said to reporters. Her friends brought her to GMCH for medical assistance in the morning because she was having trouble breathing. But the resident doctors declared her deceased.

The DCP stated that the deceased’s body was sent for a post-mortem after the standard protocol, noting that authorities at IIT Guwahati have been notified of the occurrence.

According to police, no charge has been filed by the deceased IIT-G student’s family. The girl is a native of Telangana.
