A horrific story out of Uttar Pradesh involves a woman killed by her 26-year-old live-in spouse. It was reported that the event happened on Thursday, August 17th, in the Lucknow neighborhood of Sushant Golf City.
Rishabh Singh, the deceased’s live-in partner, is suspected of shooting her. The victim has been identified as Riya Gupta.
Vineet Jaiswal, the DCP for Lucknow’s southern district, provided some background information on the probe. Jaiswal told reporters, “A woman who resided in the Paradise Crystal Apartments was shot and killed by her live-in partner on the evening of the 17th of August.” The victim’s live-in partner was arrested and charged with murder. The police arrived, and a forensics team was also dispatched.

The woman’s body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy. The suspect has been taken into custody. He further added that additional inquiries are still being conducted.

The two have reportedly been dating since November of 2022. Riya Gupta, the victim, had previously been married. The accused took the severe measure of murdering his partner because he had doubts about her character. Rishabh, a Lucknow neighborhood Krishna Nagar resident, turned himself into authorities.
