The Life Story Of Mallikarjun Kharge

On July 21, 1942, Mallikarjun Kharge was born into a household of Dalit caste. Shrimati Saibavva is his mother’s name, and Shri Mapanna is his father. He finished his education at Gulbarga’s Nutan Vidyalaya. In addition, he graduated with a BA from Government College in Gulbarga and a law degree from Seth Shankarlal Lahoti Law College in Gulbarga.

As a junior in Justice Shivaraj Patil’s office, he fought numerous cases on behalf of labour unions during his legal career. At Government College, Gulbarga, where he was a student, he began his political career as a leader of the student union and rose to the position of General Secretary.

On May 13, 1968, Mallikarjun Kharge wed Radhabai Kharge. Together, they had five children: three sons and two daughters. Among their five children are Priyank and Priyadarshini Kharge.

Mallikarjun Kharge’s Political Career

When Mallikarjun Kharge was a college student, he first entered politics. He rose to the position of student union leader while attending Government College, Gulbarga. Later, in 1969, he was appointed as the MSK Mills Employees’ Union’s legal advisor. Kharge joined the Indian National Congress in the same year and rose to the position of Gulbarga City Congress Committee President.
