Blockbuster films like Dhoom and Dhoom 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan, were directed by Sanjay. Along with Imran Khan, he directed Ajab Gazabb Love, Operation Parindey, and Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai.

Bollywood celebrities have responded to the sad news.  Yash Raj Films’ official Twitter handle wrote, “The magic he created on screen will be cherished forever. May his soul rest in peace. #SanjayGadhvi.”

Kunal Kohli, a filmmaker, wrote, “This is beyond shocking. #SanjayGadhvi RIP never thought I’d have to write your obituary. Shared an office for many years at YRF, lunch dubbas, and discussions. Will miss you, my friend. This is too hard to accept.”

Filmmaker Boney Kapoor revealed to IndianExpress.com that Gadhvi had a heart attack and passed out while at his house. At 8:45 a.m., he died. Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai was Sanjay Gadhvi’s directorial debut following a modest beginning in 2001 with Tere Liye.

Actor Abhishek Bachchan honoured director Sanjay Gadhvi on Sunday. Gadhvi had helmed the actor in two of his greatest hits to date, Dhoom and Dhoom 2.

Using Instagram, Abhishek shared two photos of Sanjay Gadhvi from the Dhoom 2 filming. The actor disclosed that having only chatted with the director the previous week, he never would have guessed that he would be penning a piece such as this for him.

Take a look at the ages of other people:

“I took this photo of Sanjay whilst we were filming the climax of Dhoom 2 in South Africa. We made 2 films together – Dhoom and Dhoom 2. Sanju, when I spoke to you last week and we were reminiscing about our shoots and memories I would never have imagined even in my craziest dreams that I would have to write a post like this,” he wrote.

Unfortunately, Sanjay’s initial film debut as a filmmaker, Tere Liye in 2000, was not well received. But Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, which starred Uday Chopra, Tulip Joshi, Jimmy Sheirgill, and Bipasha Basu, was his big break in 2002. He went on to direct films like Kidnap, Ajab Gazabb Love, and Operation Parindey after this triumph.

Even though we are sad to see “Dhoom” creator Sanjay Gadhvi leave, his skill as a narrator will live on and inspire upcoming generations of filmmakers and moviegoers. To learn more about these latest developments, return often to Digi Hind News.
