Controversial Kindness? Ram Rahim gets parole for the 7th time under the Khattar government

Dera Sacha Sauda, leader, and controversial Sant Ram Rahim, was rereleased on parole on Thursday (July 20). The bail period is 30 days at this moment. He’s been booked at the Sunariya jail in Rohtak for now.

His parole request was granted, and he was informed that he could obtain a bail bond until evening. After being denied access to Sirsa ashram by the court, the controversial and convicted self-proclaimed godman is reportedly preparing to relocate to his UP Ashram in Barwana, Baghpat.

Ram Rahim has been granted parole for the fifth time in the previous 20 months and the third time in less than nine months.

Before the Haryana panchayat election and the Adampur Assembly by-poll in October 2022, he was freed on parole for 40 days. This is his ninth parole hearing in 30 months, or two and a half years. His first parole hearing was on October 24, 2020.

The Ram Rahim Case: Pardons

On October 24, 2020, the government granted him parole for the first time to visit his sick mother.

Parole for one day on May 21, 2021, so he can revisit his sick mother.

On February 7, 2022, the government of Haryana gave him 21 days of parole.

Ram Rahim was granted another month of parole in June 2022.

Ram Rahim was granted parole for 40 days in October 2022.

Ram Rahim was released from prison on parole for 40 days on January 21, 2023, so that he may celebrate the birthday of Dera chief Shah Satnam.

In August 2017, he was found guilty of rape by a special CBI court in Panchkula. The complaint had been initially filed with the Police Station Sadar in Kurukshetra. Still, the CBI had taken up the investigation once the High Court of Punjab and Haryana issued its directions in 2003.

On July 10, 2002, while working in his fields in the hamlet of Khanpur Kolian in the District of Kurukshetra in the Indian state of Haryana, it was reported that a local man named Ranjit Singh was murdered.

In 2007, the CBI filed a charge sheet against six accused individuals concerning the death of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh; charges were made in 2008, and on October 8, 2021, the court convicted Rahim and four others.
