An Indian Army major and his wife have been arrested in the Dima Hasao district of Assam on charges of cruelly torturing their young domestic help. After two years of marriage to his wife Kimmi Ralson in Haflong, Assam, Major Shailendra Yadav was sent to Palampur, Himachal Pradesh.
The specifics of the abuse claim
Ralson recruited a young girl from Sankijung village to help with housework when Yadav moved to Palampur. But there are claims that Ralson abused the girl severely. The victims allegedly suffered physical abuse, including scorching with hot water and being stripped naked. After the assault was reported, Yadav and Ralson were arrested and the girl was restored to her family on September 24 in Haflong.

The couple was taken into judicial custody after their arrest and brought before the additional court of the Haflong Judicial Magistrate. The girl is currently being cared for at Haflong Civil Hospital in Assam, where she is a minor.
