Mallory, filled with envy, confronts Jeanette about how she’s been controlling Kate’s life, but Jeanette brushes her off. When Jeanette hears that Kate has been located alive, she goes to see Jamie, who punches her in the face and demands to know what she did to Kate.

Jeanette, by 1995 universally reviled, celebrates her birthday by meeting with lawyers and feuding with her father and his new girlfriend, Angela. Cruel Summer Season 2: Plot

Cruel Summer takes place in a small Texas town where a famous teen, Kate, is kidnapped. A girl named Jeanette goes from being an awkward outsider to the center of attention, and eventually to being the most hated person in the United States by 1995. Her story is chronicled in the Netflix series Cruel Summer.
