Delhi Crime Branch Arrests Proclaimed Offender in 2021 Murder Case from Haryana

In a major operation, the Delhi Crime Branch has arrested Smt. Hemlata, a proclaimed offender in a 2021 murder case, from Bhiwani, Haryana. The arrest comes after months of tracking and efforts by the police.

Case Background

The case relates to an FIR (No. 241/21) registered on April 3, 2021, at Aman Vihar Police Station, Delhi, under Sections 302, 201, and 212 of the IPC. Investigations revealed that Hemlata assisted her husband, Rahul, in concealing the murder weapon and destroying crucial evidence, including blood-stained clothes.

Both Hemlata and Rahul were arrested five months after the incident. However, Hemlata, after securing bail, failed to appear for court proceedings and was declared a ‘Proclaimed Offender’ by the Rohini Court on March 16, 2023.

Arrest Operation

Following a tip-off, a team led by Inspector Manoj Dahiya and supervised by ACP Arun Chauhan successfully apprehended Hemlata in Bhiwani, Haryana. The team included W/SI Ranjana, SI Narender, ASI Rajesh, and HC Narender.

Police Statement

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime-III), Vikram Singh, confirmed the arrest in an official statement, commending the team’s efforts. The Delhi Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice in this case.
