Roh Star Jay Briscoe Died in a Car Accident at Age 38 Which Was a Big Shock: Jay Briscoe (born Jamin Pugh) was an iconic Ring of Honor wrestler and the tag team champion when he tragically died in a car crash on Tuesday. According to the Shore News Beacon, “four patients were trapped” in the tragic accident. Two fatalities and two “critical patients,” including one “pediatric,” were reported.
Tony Khan, the owner of ROH, has confirmed the report. During the WWE NXT broadcast, Vic Joseph expressed his condolences for Briscoe’s passing. Sorrowfully, Jamin Pugh has left us. Several hours after Jay Briscoe’s death, Khan wrote on Twitter, “He was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today.”
Jay and his older brother Mark are still the undisputed champions of ROH. Do whatever it takes to help out his loved ones, as we have promised.
Rest in Power Jay Briscoe.
Fuck, this one's gonna be tough. #RipLegend https://t.co/jVrI7znMpw

Let Jamin Rest In Peace.
Even though Jay and Mark Briscoe have had a legendary career spanning two decades, the last few years have been among the best of their entire careers. At Final Battle 2021, the Briscoes and FTR gave fans a potential Match of the Year candidate by rewriting tag team history. At Final Battle 2022, the trilogy of brutal, exciting matches came to a head with a Double Dog Collar match between the two teams.
Wrestling purists have long held the Briscoes in high regard as one of the best tag teams in the world. The increased visibility they received after AEW and Tony Khan’s acquisition of ROH helped raise their profiles.
How AEW deals with Briscoe’s death less than 24 hours before AEW Dynamite will be fascinating to watch. In 2020, AEW aired what many called the greatest wrestling tribute show of all time in memory of Brodie Lee (Jon Huber). It’s safe to assume that the promotion will do Briscoe’s incredible legacy justice on Wednesday night, given Tony Khan’s more empathetic approach to the wrestling business.
