Up: Child Shelter Official Thrashes Minor Girl With Slippers in Agra; Suspended After Video Goes Viral
13 September, Agra: The Rajkiya Baal Grah in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, came under scrutiny when a video surfaced showing the home’s official supervisor brutally beating a young female inmate who was lying in bed. The video has caught the attention of the district magistrate, who has requested an investigation by the DPO.
The female superintendent has been removed from her position by the women’s welfare department
After the DPO visited the child shelter and submitted his report, the district magistrate recommended that the director of the women’s welfare department in Lucknow suspend the acting superintendent, Poonam Pal. DPO Ajay Pal Singh said that the beating of a youngster was “not acceptable” after he and the municipal magistrate toured the shelter home on Tuesday.
The girl remained immobile on the bed as she was beaten
The viral video depicts an event that allegedly occurred on September 4. The girl remained on the bed as Poonam Pal, clearly enraged, smacked her with her slippers. I have shared my account with Ajay Pal Singh, the district’s probationary police officer. “I can’t think of anything else to say,” Poonam Pal stated.
In #Agra‘s govt run children shelterhome (Pachkuiyaan), Poonam Lal, the center superintendent was caught slapping a girl with slippers. Earlier she was booked for abetment to suicide in #Prayagraj district in 2021 after a 15-yr-old girl allegedly killed her self in shelter home pic.twitter.com/JE5V56jR7l
