In the 1997 movie Pardes, Mahima made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She then went on to appear in a number of movies, including Dil Hai Tumhaara, Dil Kya Kare, Dhadkan, and Daag: The Fire.

“I was heading to the school where the shoot was taking place on the final day of the shoot in Banglore. It was early in the morning; typically, staff rides in the car in front of you or behind you. Even though I was scheduled to arrive at 7 a.m., I was prepared at 5.30 a.m. In order to avoid giving the impression that I was not prepared, I told my workers to leave before me. My mother, though, questioned, “Why can’t you go if you’re ready?” My crew had already left by the time I got into my car and started driving away.”
“A dhood wala truck was coming from the wrong side, and we were going roundabout,” Mahima continued. “As a result, the truck crashed into my automobile on the roundabout. I was hit by the truck, which caused glass to fly at me like bullets and shatter all over my face. I didn’t break any bones because the pieces of glass didn’t hit me anywhere else. It was my face alone.”
In addition, the Dil Kya Kare actress thanked Kajol and Ajay Devgn for their assistance at a difficult moment. “The producers, Ajay and Kajol, wanted no one to find out since, at the time, it would have destroyed my career. I believed that I would never recover, that it would never mend, and that I would never appear normal. Ajay, though, remarked, “I get scars like these all the time.” He’s being kind because he doesn’t want me to lose heart, I thought. But in reality, he was correct. He was a very kind producer who took care of everything.”

Mahima Chaudhry went on to discuss how rumors about her relationship with Ajay Devgn, her co-star in the movie Dil Kya Kare, began to circulate. “I recall that after that, the director went around and announced to everyone that Ajay Devgn was in love with me, and there were rumors in the tabloids that I was dating Ajay Devgn. That gave me even greater anxiety. We were filming Dil Kya Kare at the time, and he had recently been married. The movie hadn’t even finished shooting when they wed.”
