“I Stand With Palestine”Legal Action Taken Against Social Media Users Maulana Atif Chaudhary and Suhail Ansari Over Support for Palestine
In Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, Maulana Atif Chaudhary, and Suhail Ansari are facing legal scrutiny after expressing support for Palestine on their social media platforms. A complaint was lodged by Inspector Ravi Mehta of Kotwali, stating that Chaudhary, a resident of Haidaria Mohalla, displayed “I stand with Palestine” on his Instagram profile picture. Both Chaudhary and Ansari, the latter hailing from Mohalla Chaudharana, shared posts championing the Palestinian cause on October 8th.
Additionally, on October 12th, a WhatsApp status indicated an upcoming statement about the protection of Betul Mukdas at the Bada Chauraha Mosque. Furthermore, a subsequent status featured the phrase “Labbach Labbach Labbach or Al Amsa,” accompanied by images of three mosques. Another update showcased a Maulana waving the Palestinian flag and emphasizing Muslim unity. This message conveyed that if the teachings of Farooq-e-Azam and Imam Hussain remain intact, then the strength of unity is unbeatable.

In response to these online expressions, Kotwal Suresh Kumar Saini declared that an FIR had been lodged against both individuals. The charges suggest that their statements, allegedly based on religious and caste distinctions, are purposefully unsettling the religious and social equilibrium among varied communities. One of the accused is currently under arrest.
